Several GPs in Kiama Downs are trained in skin cancer checks, skin cancer surgery, minor surgery, dermatology and chronic care for skin conditions. Patients attending their clinics come from as far as Thirroul and Jervis Bay. You can book each GPs private website or on our main page. Some GP registars at Kiama Downs also provide this service.
Skin cancer GPs
Dr Jodi Osborn has additional training in Dermatology and Skin Cancer medicine.
Dr Rhys Holyoak and Dr Alison Crofts have also completed additional training.
Dr Jodi has undertaken additional Dermatology training with a Professional Certificate in Dermoscopy (skin cancer checks).
Dr Tom has experience in general dermatology and skin cancer medicine and has particular interest in children and teenage dermatology and chronic skin conditions.
Skin cancer checks
Skin cancer checks can be booked online (30 minutes) or by calling (02) 4237 7502.
These appointments require a 30 minute appointment so your doctors can learn about your history including sun exposure, work history, skin cancer history and family history.
This is followed by a complete examination that may include your head through to your toes (less if you prefer so) to help reduce the chance of missing any spots.
Skin cancer surgery
If your condition requires surgery or a biopsy your GP will usually ask you to return within 2 weeks. Our admin team will book time with our nurse and your GP so that your procedure can go as smoothly as possible.
Chronic conditions
Doctors at Kiama Downs also have interests in treating and caring for people with long term or chronic skin conditions.
These include eczema, psoriasis, allergies, skin tags, warts and more complex and rare conditions.
On the day
Please bring any previous results or history to your appointment regarding previous skin cancers or conditions.
Please also bring a list of medical conditions, medications and allergies so that you and your doctor can work together to make the best decisions for your care.
