About Dr Melissa Cave
Dr Melissa Cave is a warm and attentive General Practitioner who provides thoughtful, patient-centred care.
She has a special interest in women's health, including menopause and perimenopause, contraceptive care, and antenatal shared care. With a background in midwifery before becoming a doctor, Dr Cave brings extensive experience and understanding to caring for women through different stages of life.
Originally from the UK, Dr Cave qualified as a doctor in 2008 and gained her GP qualification in 2013. She moved to Australia in 2014 and has since cared for patients across the Illawarra. She is known for taking the time to listen carefully and creating a relaxed, welcoming environment for her patients.
A note for Dr Cave's patients
Dear Patients,
I’m writing to let you know that I will be finishing at Kiama Downs on Wednesday 15 April this year.
It has been a privilege to care for many of you over the years. Some of you have been my patients for a long time and have followed me through different practices, and I am very grateful for the trust you have placed in me.
This was not an easy decision, but it is the right one for me at this time. I have decided to step away from general practice for the time being and will instead be focusing on menopause care only through my clinic in Jamberoo.
Please feel welcome to continue your care at Kiama Downs Medical Practice. The doctors here have full access to your medical records. KDMP has a wonderful team of doctors and staff who will continue to look after you, and you should feel very comfortable continuing to follow up with Dr Dominique Gallagher-Avery, Dr Nicole Power, Dr Dani Ward, Dr Tom Hilliar, or any of the GPs here going forward.
