Test Results and Follow-Up
We understand that during the handover from The Jamberoo Surgery, there can occasionally be hiccups.
While our intention is that all pathology and imaging ordered at Jamberoo will come to us at Kiama Downs Medical Practice, sometimes labs, radiology clinics, or specialists may mistakenly send results elsewhere or not at all.
At Kiama Downs Medical Practice, we have systems in place to reduce this risk:
- After you complete a blood test or scan, you should always receive an SMS from us confirming that your result has been reviewed. If there’s no urgent concern, the message will state “No further additional action is required“. In this situation you should still follow up with your GP or other specialist if you were advised to, and follow up with any other plans that have been made.
- If you don’t receive this SMS, we encourage you to email us here two weeks after your test to check in.
For patients using Jamberoo test forms from 25 June 2025 onward, please:
a) Follow up as advised by your doctor when the test is ordered.
b) If you haven’t heard from us or The Jamberoo Surgery within two weeks of doing your test, email us here to confirm your result was received and reviewed.
We’re Here For You
Whether you’re a long-time patient of Dr Mel, Dr Lynsey or Dr Mais any GP including them can continue to provide you with the trusted, compassionate care you have expected at The Jamberoo Surgery.
Kind regards,
Dr Tom Hilliar (Director), Rachel Edgerton (Manager) and the team at Kiama Downs Medical Practice
