Our Approach
Your GP will thoroughly assess your injury, which may include physical examination and ordering imaging such as X-rays, ultrasound or MRI when indicated. We develop a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals.
Treatment may include:
- Acute injury management and pain relief
- Referral for physiotherapy and rehabilitation
- Referral to orthopaedic specialists when needed
- Exercise prescription and return-to-sport guidance
- Injury prevention advice
- Joint injections where appropriate
When to See a GP for a Sports Injury
You should see your GP if you have:
- Pain that does not improve after a few days of rest
- Significant swelling or bruising
- Difficulty bearing weight or using the injured area
- A joint that feels unstable or locks
- Numbness or tingling
- A suspected fracture or dislocation
